# Do I Need to Create a Shopify Product for a Priced Option?

The answer to our number #1 question is **Yes.**&#x20;

If you want an option to increase the product price, Shopify requires the additional cost to be linked to a Shopify product.

The good news is that the product doesn't need to be visible on your storefront. It can be used only to hold the additional cost for your option.

### How should I set up the add-on product?

Create a Shopify product for the additional cost.

For example:

* Extra Vanilla Filling (+$5)
* Gift Wrap (+$10)
* Rush Processing (+$15)

The product should be:

* **Active** (not Draft)
* Listed or unlisted from the Online Store sales channel

With Native Bundling, the product doesn't need to be visible on your storefront. As long as it's **Active**, Infinite Options can add it to the cart when the option is selected.

Customers won't be able to purchase the product on its own if it isn't available on the Online Store sales channel.

### Why does this work?

Native Bundling links your option to a Shopify product that holds the additional cost.

When a customer selects the option, Infinite Options automatically adds the linked product to the cart behind the scenes. Shopify then uses that product's price to calculate the total.

### What if I'm using Legacy or Product Bundling?

[Legacy Bundling ](/infinite-options/increase-the-cost-of-an-option/product-bundles.md)works differently.

When using Legacy Bundling, add-on products must remain available on the **Online Store** sales channel.

If they're removed from the Online Store sales channel, Shopify returns a **"**[**Cannot find variant**](/infinite-options/troubleshooting/resolving-cannot-find-variant-error.md)**"** error when a customer selects the option.

### How do I know if I'm using Native Bundling?

In Infinite Options, go to:

**Settings → Native Bundling check it says "Enabled"** <br>

If Native Bundling is enabled, your add-on products can remain hidden from the Online Store sales channel.

If it's disabled, you're using Legacy Bundling, and your add-on products must remain available on the Online Store sales channel.
