Assign Options by Tag

If you're creating your first Option Set and want it to appear on multiple products, assigning by tag is the easiest method.

Before following these steps, make sure:

• The Infinite Options Fields block is installed on your theme

• You have created and saved your Option Set

Any product that has the tag you choose will automatically display the options from your Option Set. Products without the tag will not show those options.

How It Works

1. Add a tag in Shopify to the products that should display options.

2. In Infinite Options, assign your Option Set using that tag.

3. Any product with that tag will show the options.

4. Products without the tag will not.

This is the simplest way to manage options across many products.

Step 1: Open your Shopify products list

1. Go to Products

2. Select the products that should display the same options

You can:

• Click the checkbox next to individual products

• Or click the top checkbox to select all, then uncheck any you want to exclude

Tip: You can use Shopify filters (Vendor, Product Type, or existing tags) to narrow the list before selecting products.

Step 2: Add a Tag to Those Products

1. With the products selected, click the three dots (…) above the list

2. Choose Add tags

3. Enter a tag name (for example: custom-options or requires-options)

4. Click Save

Shopify will confirm that the tag has been added.

Tip: You can also use Shopify filters to narrow the list first, such as filtering by Vendor, Product Type, or an existing tag.

Step 3: Open Your Option Set in Infinite Options

1. Open the Infinite Options app

2. Click Option Sets in the left sidebar

3. Create a new Option Set or open one you have already built

Step 4: Assign Your Option Set Using the Tag

In the assignment section at the top of your Option Set:

1. Choose Tag from the rule dropdown

2. Enter the exact tag name you added in Shopify

3. Select it from the dropdown when it appears

Infinite Options will show how many products match that tag.

Make sure you click the tag from the dropdown list to confirm the match.

Step 5: Preview the Matching Products

Click Preview matching products to confirm that the correct products are included.

This helps you verify the tag is applied correctly before saving.

Step 6: Save your changes

Click Save in the top right corner.

All products with that tag will now display the options from this Option Set on their product page.
