# FAQ

## How much does Yedric.ai cost?

Yedric.ai is completely free to get started. To access more advanced models, or use at a large scale, you will need to [bring your own](/yedric/going-further/organizations.md#ai-service-keys) Anthropic/OpenAI/Google API keys. [Contact us](mailto:contact+yedric@theshoppad.com) for more details.

## Do I need my own API key to try it?

No. New assistants start on a small default model that runs on Yedric's own keys, so you can build and test without signing up for anything else. Add your own provider keys when you want a different model, or when your volume grows. See [AI Service Keys](/yedric/going-further/organizations.md#ai-service-keys).

## My assistant is not replying. What is wrong?

The usual cause is a model whose provider key is missing. If an assistant is set to a model from a provider you have not added a key for, its chat will not return a response until you add one under [AI Service Keys](/yedric/going-further/organizations.md#ai-service-keys). If the widget itself is not appearing at all, work through the troubleshooting table in [Embedding the Widget](/yedric/developers/embedding-widget.md).

## Which models can I choose from?

Whichever ones your organization has provider keys for. The dropdown on the assistant is the source of truth, and the roster changes often enough that it is not worth writing down. If a model you expect is missing, check the matching provider key is set.

## How do I keep my team's test conversations out of my real data?

Map your teammates' accounts with [Developer Usernames](/yedric/going-further/organizations.md#developer-usernames). Their conversations are then labeled as internal and kept separate from real user conversations.

## Can I see who I am talking to?

Only if you tell Yedric. Pass a username from your app and sign it, so the identity cannot be spoofed from the browser. See [Secure Mode](/yedric/developers/secure-mode.md). Several reports, including **Multi-session users** on the [Dashboard](/yedric/going-further/dashboard.md) and **Usage by username**, need identified users before they show anything.

## Can visitors reach a real person?

Yes, two ways. An **External** handoff fires an event on your page so your existing chat provider, support form, or phone flow takes over. Or **Built-in** live chat puts your team in the same widget panel, with an inbox in Yedric. See [Live Chat](/yedric/going-further/live-chat.md).

## How do I test a change before my users see it?

Use [Simulations](/yedric/going-further/simulations.md) to run saved scenarios against a change in a sandbox, with pass and fail criteria. Every configuration change is also recorded in [Versions](/yedric/going-further/versions.md), so you can compare any two states and restore an earlier one.

## Why do my Trends charts and my filtered conversation list disagree slightly?

Because they bucket days differently. The date filters on [Conversations](/yedric/going-further/conversations.md) use your own time zone, while the day buckets on Trends are calculated in UTC. Near the edges of a day the two can differ by a conversation or two. This is expected.

## Why is a conversation tagged Frustrated when it does not read that way?

Frustration tagging is a score with a threshold you control. Raise the **Frustration sensitivity** slider on the assistant's [Settings](/yedric/going-further/settings.md) tab to tag fewer conversations, or lower it to catch more. You can also give the analyzer written instructions there, which is the better fix when the problem is that it does not understand your product or your customers.

## Can I put my own information beside a conversation?

Yes. A custom app renders your own panel next to a conversation, so your team can see account details without leaving Yedric. See [Integrations](/yedric/going-further/integrations.md).

## Something in the docs looks wrong. Who do I tell?

[Contact us](mailto:contact+yedric@theshoppad.com). Telling us which page and what you expected is enough.
